About
Toru Yatsuka
Early in the morning, in the silence,
I hold a brush every day.
Born in Kitakata, Fukushima.
Surrounded by the snow-covered Iide mountain range
and the scent of ink from my grandfather, a calligrapher.
I left my hometown and continued music while working.
I played the guitar and sang songs of solitude.
But there was something unfilled.
After the age of 40, I started ink painting,
touched my original landscape,
and ink became a place to return to.
Teacher: Toun Kobayashi
Exhibited and awarded domestically and internationally.
Lives in Kanagawa Prefecture.
